About Santal People
The Santal or Santhal Tribe, are an ethnic group native to India, Nepal and Bangladesh. Santals have largest population in the Jharkhand state of India followed by West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Assam, Chhattisgarh. They have their own religion, customs and traditions which has been followed for hundreds of years. Santals speak Santali language, the most widely spoken of the Munda languages.
